Latrice Smith

Latrice Smith, a single mother of two children (aged 17 and 19 as of May, 2013), understands the difficulties parents — particularly mothers — face when balancing the pressing demands of their children with the health and physical fitness needs of themselves. She also knows that families often live under tight budgets.

Acknowledging those constraints, Latrice notes that the “hardest thing for me to do was to set an example for my children by being active and having good eating habits with ALL the activities they were involved in. Not only did I have to encourage them to be physically active and eat right, I had to practice what I preached.”

Latrice began her life-long commitment to fitness at a young age. During her fifth grade year in elementary school, she began competing in track and field events. In her 6th grade year, she moved on to cross country events. In high school, she began weight training.

As an adult, Latrice complemented her weight training with kickboxing and mixed martial arts (MMA) training.

Over time, Latrice realized that she could inspire and improve not just herself but other people with her infectious “love, excitement, and enjoyment” of physical fitness. While exercising, she noted that many people frequently asked her for assistance, instruction, opinions, or just to join them for a workout. As Latrice explains, “I found myself being excited that people treasured my opinion and trusted me with their health and well being… they get motivated because they see my motivation and/or feel my energy.”

Latrice decided that she wanted to help people prevent obesity, high blood pressure, and other health disorders while improving their self confidence and pride through education and promotion of good eating habits and physical fitness. Latrice also realized that she must educate individuals about proper training techniques to avoid common injuries.

In June of 2012, Latrice entered a certification program offered by World Instructor Training Schools (W.I.T.S.), through which she became a certified personal fitness trainer. (For more information about W.I.T.S, please go to http://www.witseducation.com/).

To meet each client’s need to balance budgets, schedules, and physical fitness, Latrice offers a wide range of pricing plans and times for both personal training and group sessions. She offers discounted prices to clients who pay for multiple personal sessions in advance. Latrice also offers low priced group training and fitness boot camps.

Personal Training Prices

• $30/session up to 3 times/week
• $25/session up to 5 times/week
• $20/session 5days/week – 2 weeks
• $15/session 5days/week – 3 weeks
• $10/session 5days/week – 4 weeks or more

Group Training

• Midday “Power Lunch” sessions
• Times: 12 noon, 12:30 PM, 1:00 PM, and 1:30 PM
• Price: $5/session – gym member; $10/session – non-gym member

“In house” Boot Camp @ Iron Bodies Gym

• Tuesday and Thursday @ 11 AM; Saturday @ 9:30 AM
• Thursday @ 7:30 PM
• Prices: $10/session – gym member; $15/session – non-gym members
